64 ohms is definitely something to be concerned with, get a headphone amp to go with it, there are some very good cheap ones on the market. For portability consider some PX 100 II's they fold up to sound sunglass size and have their own case and sound superb also have a 32 ohm impedance. They may feel flimsy but I've had a pair for 12 years (orig. PX100's) and used them 40-50 hrs. a week for work.

That need has translated to mainstream consumers and audiophiles who seek to hear their music with greater fidelity and accuracy. The HD 280, for those reasons, is a best-seller. The 64 ohm impedance is fairly low, I would not expect any suffering of performance from an iPod.
