“How far from the wall does the unit have to be placed to work efficiently? Does it have to be three feet away? I read a minimum of 18 inches from walls as a general rule for most air purifiers.”

I have mine about 8 inches away from wall the only reason that is said is because sometimes when you dont clean or replace filters like your supposed to you can get black carbon or discoloration on the wall were unit is.
