• You have to lean it against something. The cannister at the top makes it fall over.

• The top portion easily disconnects and attaches to a hook on the front. If this is not done when you let go, it will not stand up.

• you have to lean it against something to hold it up. it can't be slippery because it will slide.

• We are happy to assist you with your inquiry. This vacuum will not stand on its own. With this being said, there is a hook on the bottom front of the wand that you can store the handheld portion of the vacuum on. This allows you to store the vacuum without leaning it against something.
