• This works great on carpet! There are two power settings - the higher power will actually self propel on my carpet, although I do not have a deep shag.

• We would like to inform you that this vacuum works great on most flooring types. It has 3 settings, (0) Off, (I) Bare Floor/Small Area Rugs and (II) Carpet. With this being said, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of the flooring to verify compatibility.
