• If you put it on bare floor of the brush shuts off. The microfiber roller will continue to roll but if you want only suction and no microfiber roller just pop out the microfiber roller, it’s super easy to remove and put back we take ours out all the time to clean it

• Yes with a slide style button in the handle you can choose between hard floor (no brush movement) carpet low pile, and thick carpet area rug ( deepest clean)
