How do I dump the trash out of the shop vac and clean null

Hello Nichole, We would like you to know that the dust cup for the Shark® - Bagless Cordless Hand Vac can easily be removed. There is a release button on the top on the hand vac, where the dust cup meets the main body. To clean out the dust cup, empty the contents into the trash and then wipe out the dust cup with a dry cloth. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team
