• It won’t scratch floors as I use it on three surfaces, carpets, tile, and wood.

• It has 2 modes for the floor, 1st mode is for flat smooth floors such as tile, hardwood, laminate etc. Mode 2 is when the brush kicks in for doing carpet. It also has a trigger to pull and this just increases the suction power of the vacuum. I have engineered hard wood, tile and carpet. This vacuum works great, better than any of the 2 Dyson stick vacuums I have owned!
