There's a latch on the side of the canister that you slide up to open the bottom.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Disconnect the vacuum from the brushroll so it's operating as a handheld vacuum. If you are looking at the unit where the Shark logo is on the front; look on the bottom of the unit next to the actual canister. To the left is what looks like a CD eject button is located. Press that and the canister will detach. May require a decent tug to get it to release but it does seperate from the unit. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a button you slide down and it opens the bottom hatch to dump out the contents so you can just hold it over the trash can. It is very easy and a nice feature to empty it out without touching anything.
