- Answer yes. it can be shut off. the switch has off, brushes off in the middle and brushes on if you go all the way.

QuestionDoes this vacuum have a hose on it for reaching up in high places?

- Answer Yes. The product also has suction control, which is awesome. You can decrease suction to make it roll more easily over carpeting. And you can minimize suction even more for above-floor use, say for dusting curtains without sucking them into the sweeper; (I haven't yet tried the latter.)
