- Answer Hello Betty, this model microwave has the ventilation openings at the top of the unit. The cooling fan will blow the hot air out through these openings to the outside.

- Answer Hello, yes aluminum foil can be used when using the unit in the convection mode. Please ensure that the foil is at least 1 inches away from the wall of the oven.

- Answer I have had a Sharp R-8320 since it came out, what, 25 years ago? It has been absolutely great. Still working perfectly, except for the interior light. Which you don't really have to have. I am considering buying a new Sharp SMC1585BS, which looks a lot like the older one. But I don't know if this is a 1 for 1 replacement. I assume that the primary features are the same, but hopefully they have updated some of the features like having a 1 min. or a prefixed number of minutes button(s).
