- Answer Cavity dimensions per the user manual are 13.9 in. wide, 14.1 in. deep and 9.6 in. high. Volume is 1.1 cu. ft.

Questiondoes this unit have a fan that vents the cooking compartment while cooking ... my last unit, not a sharp, did not and in many cases steam from the cooking process remained in the unit until the door was opened the it then vented out.

- Answer Regarding the Sharp 1.1 cu ft 1000W Countertop Microwave, yes it does technically have a vent fan, though it doesn't vent the steam very well, and yes, I made sure the unit has adequate spacing all around. Surprising, considering this is my third Sharp Carousel and never had this problem before.

- Answer The waiting state is simply the unit plugged in but not actually heating anything. To enable or disable the beeping press and hold the "8" key for 3 seconds while in the waiting state. Unit will beep to let you know the function has been enabled or disabled. Same step to enable or disable.

- Answer Re: Sharp 1.1 cu ft 1000W Countertop microwave, the inside cavity walls are metal, though not aluminum.

QuestionHow do you turn on the silent mode so the microwave doesn’t beep?

- Answer With the unit in standby mode (on but not heating anything), press and hold the "8" key. You will hear a beep after a couple of seconds, which enables or disables the mute feature, which is welcome since some people might find the beeping unnecessarily loud.
