That's going to be tight. If I measure from the back of the microwave (it's not flat) to the foot it's around 14.5". You might find that the shelf is too short / not deep enough to sit the microwave on. Plus it has a pull handle (which I LOVE compared to a push button) so you might find you are pulling the microwave OFF the shelf. Try cutting a piece of poster board to the size of the shelf and take that into Best Buy and do a good look at the microwave display before you buy one.
