Really like this microwave - easy to use & clean
||Posted .Really like this microwave. My old one was the same size inside. but seemed to take up more counter space. This one is pretty "Sharp" looking and blends in well, I don't know the exact outer dimensions of either. My old one looked huge, so many useless buttons, flashing lights & noises. This Sharp microwave is very user friendly. Turn the knob to the time you want to cook and hit start, that's it. Press the knob, and it will stay flush with the outer surface, makes it really quick and easy to wipe the front. It would be great for mom,...... no more calls at 6am or 10pm - "the microwave is blinking & beeping, what button do I need to press?"

Works Great, Looks Very Modern
||Posted .I needed to replace an older stainless steel microwave, and chose this model based upon its unique looks. It's worked fine, and is easy to operate. The "knob" can be pushed in or left out, making the front panel look very clean and uncomplicated. The stainless steel does keep fingerprints very easily, so beware that there will be constant wiping. I wish the digital timer wouldn't look like every timer since the 1980's, but thats something that doesn't seem to improve at this price point. Overall, a good buy for the price, and I am quite happy with the performance.

Love the handle (No more broken buttons)
||Posted .My previous microwave's push button broke and I couldn't open my microwave oven. So I shopped for a microwave with a handle that I could PULL since I was tired of these buttons breaking. This is a good microwave. It took me a little to figure out the sequence to follow when cooking at a lower power level. I wish microwaves still had the option to turn off all that beeping when you push buttons. This one doesn't allow you to silence the beeping. I also miss a decent popcorn popping option. It seems all new microwaves just have these buttons based on the ounces of the packet you're popping except I'm not popping packets. All in all this is a good microwave. Looks good. Works well. Has a HANDLE.

Works as expected
||Posted .Microwave works well and looks good in our kitchen. I specifically purchased this oven because of the handle (vs. a push button opener). On push to open models, as I had previously, the front was always fingerprinted as there was no other way to close the door without putting a hand on the black shiny front panel..it showed every touch. This oven fingerprints easily as well, but mostly confined to a handle and shows less.

Great Microwave
||Posted .I looked around to find just the right power and size and value. This is it and it was on sale and I like stainless steel. The size is perfect for those just a bit bigger bowls and plates. The power is very good and I can use the exact directions given for the product. This is a great value when on sale. One final thing - I thought the rolling knob vs the buttons would be a problem but I LOVE the knob over the buttons. It gives you an exact time number and pushes in to look smooth and stylish. Highly recommend this.

A very good microwave
||Posted .I bought the Carousel to replace a Hier that I purchased a few years ago. It was just what I wanted. A handle to open and close instead of that push button thing that always breaks, a knob time selector instead of the push button panel pad and I love that the knob can be pushed in to keep from accidentally turning it while your cleaning the unit or just while moving things past it. It's just a great oven. No bells and whistles, it does what it's meant to do and it does it well. I would recommend this to anyone who is considering on purchasing a new microwave.

Excellent price for a Sharp microwave
||Posted .We love this microwave but are having a hard time using the auto cooking (sensor) setting. For example, we set the popcorn auto set for our 3oz bag and find MORE time is needed. We must quickly push the start button for 30 more seconds on high for it to finish popping (and, no, we haven't burned it!). And it cooks too long for frozen veggies! We are not happy with the auto sensor so we guess the time/settings on our own and do much better.

Works as expected, horrible to clean outside
||Posted .As stated, it works as expected. Except, for some odd reason after 4 minutes (or so) you can only time in 30 second increments (weird). The only real knock is the exterior is a real pain to clean, everything I've tried leaves streaks.

Q: QuestionDoes this microwave have the capability to set two different cook levels in one step - in other words, can you set it to defrost at half power for a specified time and then continue to cook at full power for a specified time? Thanks.
Asked by tmp1.
- A:Answer Yes this is possible with your model microwave. This option is called Multi-Stage Cooking and the instructions on how to use this feature can be found on page 14 of the User Manual. Q: QuestionOBVIOUSLY... TO THE PREVIOUS QUESTION --IF A PLATE FITS IT WILL ALLOW THE TURNTABLE TO TURN. THAT WAS A SMART*** ANSWER. WHAT IS THE MAX DIMENTIONS OF A PLATE PERMITED, FOR THE TURNTABLE TO STILL ROTATE?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello, I am very sorry there are no maximum dimensions listed for plate size on the SMC1655BS. Based on the interior dimensions of 15.5” x 10.2” x 17.1”, a round plate that is 15.4" across is as big as you could go and still have it spin.

Q: QuestionHow far apart (width-wise) are the feet? I am trying to figure out whether it will sit comfortably on a table that's only 18 inches wide. (I know it needs some room on the sides for venting, which isn't a problem.)
Asked by DB10025.
- A:Answer The measurement between the feet is currently unavailable.

Q: QuestionHow big of an area do you need to build in a cabinet around this microwave to allow for proper ventilation?
Asked by Chels.
- A:Answer Hello Chels, thank you for reaching out to us. For proper ventilation, allow 4 inches of space between oven top, sides, rear and adjacent surfaces. Do not block air vents. If they are blocked during operation, the oven may overheat and eventually cause a failure. If you require additional assistance please email us at onlinesupport@sharpsec.com.
