• You have to go to the settings menu and select the video mode 480/720/1080

• Depends on what input you're using & if the incoming signal is only 480p, I think. I don't have that issue myself when I use the HDMI input for my DVR or PS3.

• Some TVs will initially set-up based on the lowest setting. You just need to go into the menu/setting screen and select the 1080p. It should start-up at this resolution once it's been established.
