A:Answer I picked out this TV for my father. It has both a headphone jack and a Line Out jack on the rear, and they function differently. The Line Out jack, which is adjacent to the optical audio jack, does not affect the built-in speakers, and the volume from that jack is not affected by the remote control. Conversely, whenever something is plugged into the headphone jack (which is on the opposite side of the rear of the TV) the built-in speakers will be muted and the volume and mute buttons on the remote will control the headphone volume. My father is hard of hearing and uses TV•Ears. I plugged the TV•Ears base into the Line Out jack so that other folks can hear the TV sound, and because the TV•Ears headset has its own volume control.
Note: Some Roku TVs have a convenient headphone jack on the remote; I don't know whether this model does.
