I'm measuring ~37.75-38". Sharp's website says 38.2".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.AS the reviewer 'Shclep' stated the TV is approx 38 inches wide...(this is Important to know for the size TV stand needed). The measurements provided make it very confusing. The number plastered all over the boxes and in the advertisements is THE DIAGONAL MEASUREMENT.... If you had a perfect square the diagonal and lenght and height would all be the same... This is not true for a rectangular figure (Remember High School algebra?. ) The diagonal is measured from the bottom left corner of the TV to the top right corner. So reviewer webrat55 is incorrect. The width is not 42.6, instead the diagonal measurement is 42.6. Bring your tape measure to any electronics store and you will see what I am talking about.. Hope this helps... And I for one wish the manufacturers would provide useful measurements. I am not sure why the diagonal is so important except for comparison sake. I always need to know if the TV will fit on the media unit I have
