Does this tv require a sound bar? null

Anonymous, NO. Mine has good volume to sit and watch TV from 8 feet away. I am only using a small amount of the volume capability... Maybe if you are trying to set up a man cave, or TV theater in your TVs location and you want blow your ears off gaming @ 30 frames a second. With a video card capable of putting out 4k signal/resolution this will make a very good Computer monitor. JR
