All laptop manufacturers have a different key combo to send the picture to an external display. It will usually be a "function key" plus one of the "F" keys at the same time. Mine is Fn+F7 on my Sony Viao. Look on those top keys for a symbol that looks like a TV.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not certain how this could be fixed, but it sounds like an issue with the handshake between the two devices. My recommendation is to power down both devices - unplugging them completely for about 30 seconds. Then, power up your computer, attach the HDMI to your TV, then plug the TV back in and power it up. Sometimes this will help both devices communicate through HDMI more effectively. It's worth a try, anyway :)
