“Does the power red light stays on even when the tv is off?”

• Yes, the default factory mode is that the red light stays on when unit is turned off but there is an adjustment in the menu options to turn it off if you don't want it on.

• Yes, the power light does stay on. I turn off my surge protector every night anyway.

• Yes and as a side note: the USA is one of the only countries to leave power consuming items plugged in while not in use
