“Game mode” is just a display setting on the tv. It has nothing to do with connections between your console and tv. It just makes the tv images more bright and crispy looking. That’s it all.

Lag could simply be a internet connection, game mode, makes it to where it syncs the button press with display correctly, and also does picture settings, that said, if this is what your referring to, try turning the console off, power tv off, turn tv on, put it in game mode, then turn on console. :) I have to do this every once in a while, it also does it to my Netflix when switching from a game to Netflix. For correction on that also try those steps :) I really hope this helps.. I know how frustrating gaming with delay can be.
