Yes the buttons are completely universal. The icons on there are just suggestive

The short answer is yes. You can program any IR button from your Direct remote on the SideClick. Search YouTube for a demo on the SideClick, you'll see how easy it is.

No. This remote can only be programmed with IR signals from other IR remotes.

This is designed to be used to control your TV. The Roku remote does the rest.
