A:Answer This case when closed is secure on all 4 sides so I would say it is pretty dust proof, as for being shock absorbent it appears strong. I have dropped it twice and had no ill effects. I am very happy with this case and especially like the attached ring and looks. It probably does add some bulk and weight to the phone, but it is so much easier to handle and less of a drop risk, because the case makes it slip resistant.
