Battery life depends on how often it gets activated. If it's pointed more out toward the street, every passing car will activate it. Every squirrel or bird moving past will activate it. You might want to get the solar panel. That works well as long as there's sunlight. Too many stormy days in a row and the battery will still run down. I have the solar panel and bought a spare battery just in case (because that first week there were no sunny days).

Probably not. You may have alot of moving activity prompting the camera to activate, which uses power. Get the solar panel to charge the battery. You will never have to worry about charging.

I would say Yes and you should contact Simplisafe about that. Ours lasts about 6 weeks between charges with about 6 events recorded per day.

Seems like you might have a weak battery. I bought a extra one from Best Buy and they both last about a week before I need to recharge one.
