“How do you change the display to show the favorites, instead of the favorites/category options? I have 2 radios one shows the favorites on the main menu (purchased on 06-2018) but the new one shows "favorites" "category" options on the main menu?”

Your new Commander Touch has the latest software v36. This has the Favorites/categories on the main screen - unfortunate you can not go backwards in the SW to an older version. However one extra feature that the v36 gives you is remote control capabilities and on the remote you can direct access your presets. please see https://shop.siriusxm.com/support/commander.html for more information
