“Does these have noise protection I would like a set of over the ear headphones that come with built in hearing protection. Would this set work for that? I am often in a noisy environment and would like a dual purpose set. If not these can you recommend others?”

Well, When I had mine on, I could not hear my wife yelling at me from 30 feet away ;) hope that helps :)

All headsets offer some degree of passive noise isolation. Active noise cancelation, on the other hand, requires a microphone to capture ambient sounds. The ambient sound waves (the noise) are then electronically inverted and fed back into the target signal to cancel out any ambient noise within the ear pads. The description provided under Key Features should be corrected as the "Noise canceling = Yes" indicator is erroneous and misleading.

Please try again later.For good noise protection (like mowing your yard, chain sawing, leaf blower and the like) I recommend the 3M™ WorkTunes™ Connect Wireless Hearing Protector with Bluetooth® Technology. They have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 24 dB, which will do well in most noisy environments. The only place you may want more is on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier or the starting line at a funny car race. The headphones in question will reduce ambient noise but they are not intended for actual protection from loud environments.
