This really depends on your tv, so consult your tv's and/or sound bar manual to find out the answer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That is the way I use the Skull Candy Headset. I have a Samsung Sound Stand and TV and I use it without the sound. The smart tv can be set up to accommodate this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes they work well with my Samsung Smart TV. You can not use the sound bar though. You have to have the sound bar turned off and only use the sound with the TV. The sound on the TV can be turned down to very low or off and you can still adjust the sound up and down on the headphones so as not to disturb anyone. I found the sound to be good with the headphones.
