Nope. The adapter it is attached to will fit right into her xbox one controller.

Please try again later.no you do not need to purchase any additional hardware! the headset works outside of its box after a quick update on Astros website. the only piece that is necessary is the chat cable as the headset chat feature is not 100% wireless. you do need to plug the chat adapter that comes in the Astro A50 box into the controller to chat.
