I'm sure you're already aware that the resistor is necessary if the doorbell isn't running to a actual doorbell chime. Just in case you're unsure how to install it, here's a link to a video created by Skybell's support. It shows how to connect the resistor when using a power supply. Again, if you're already aware of this video, than maybe this answer can help someone else out. It's nice that Skybell accounts for the different ways people want to supply power to the doorbell.
