The other zone will work normally as before. I just installed a smart thermostat in my family room so I can monitor the temperature while I'm away. The thermostat for the other zone still works normally.

Please try again later.According to the Nest community page,"Does the Nest Thermostat work with zoned systems?": In most cases you can install a Nest to manage just one zone, while the other thermostat manages the 2nd zone. I would type your question on the Nest community site to learn more because each house has different wiring setups that may affect your decision to purchase.
