“I have an older home with 2 zones for heating ( no central air). if I install a smart thermostat on 1st floor what happens to the 2nd floor thermostat? remote access to 1st floor thermostat is all I need. can I do this?”

The other zone will work normally as before. I just installed a smart thermostat in my family room so I can monitor the temperature while I'm away. The thermostat for the other zone still works normally.
