Outdoors, in my exp., you have to be prepared to be grounded due any higher speed winds/gusts, or you likely will lose it drifting away. It will drift any way in any wind incl. indoor turbulence of its own, but not as bad in 6 MPH+. Video is great for me, but not great for duration. Although the drone flight time will be less, my extensive tests of running video rec. 12-20 min.+ time, I've found video will start to degrade in quality the longer you go. That's likely due this drones type of cam. &/or drone heating up over time. *(Although Brand Response on BB doesn't recommend indoors, I find providing you fly in a spacious & hazard-free room, it's an excellent environment to practice learn/flying. Hazard-free as in: no cat, no open & filled mop-bucket, etc.) Definitely put the propeller guards on, but still keep few feet from walls & at least 2'-3' underneath ceiling, + same above ground/floor following lift-off. Auto-lift off & hover is appropriate for me (few feet up), but it will drift still (usually due its own generated turbulence), so be ready to do navigation corrections manually &/or use the trimming functions. "The flip" & trick w/this drone in outdoors & utilizing trimming functions, combined w/speed adjustments (see manual, though it's very brief on trimming): Although it can sustain/hover even "cut through" & fly in approx. up to 12 MPH wind, keep in mind it's a non-GPS drone. The moment you pivot/turn, you lose control not so much over remote, but due wind & rapid drifting. My point again, in light of trimming & speed adjustments in higher wind speeds. Keep also in mind, the last state of those adjustments you may make, will only reset once you land & power-cycle drone + remote & re-do calibration, etc. As an extensive-experienced flyer of this drone, I find it more ideal for a spacious indoor room, or far less populated to empty gymnasium. (Don't fly over people.) If the outdoor wind is amazingly 0-3 MPH, it's fun to fly around outdoors too.

And we don't recommend that you use it inside a building since it's easy to hit a building. Regarding the battery life, each battery could support 12 minutes' fly, but if the functions such as camera, application been used, the use time will be reduced. Plus the drone comes with 2 batteries, so you can enjoy 24 minutes of flying performance. We are dedicated to ensuring your 100% satisfaction.
