“I purchased my ring spotlight, awaiting installation. Will this work with the battery it comes with or will I need to replace it with a rechargeable battery? Am I able to place two batteries into it in case of failure?”

Hi Vanessa, The battery that comes with your Ring Spotlight is rechargeable. And when the battery starts to drain you will have to remove it and recharge it. But with the solar panel it helps keep the battery charged a lot better. I have not had to remove my battery to recharge it once, my solar panel keeps mine 98%-100% charged. Hope this helps

I definitely recommend the solar panel which helps from you changing the battery frequency. I would also recommend buying a spare battery since they can hold 2 batteries. I use 2 batteries in some of the areas where sunlight is limited. It really helps.
