Depends on where you are. In Florida for example, it gets very hot and humid even in a covered porch and these speakers are not rated for outdoor use. I have Mag8R's inside and polk RC80i's in my Florida Sunroom. RC80i's are great if you are going for a second zone speakers for music in the patio area.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Sam! Thanks for the question. Yes, the Sonance MAG8R speakers can work outside as you describe however, they are not designed to be used in areas that would expose them to things like excessive heat, cold, water, moisture, etc. Installing the speakers in a place that is open to outside elements could shorten the expected usable life of the speaker. We do have a speaker that is designed specifically for harsh environments it's our Visual Performance Extreme line of speakers which can be viewed here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=Sonance+extreme+&_dyncharset=UTF-8&_dynSessConf=&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys I do realize these speakers are more expensive than the Sonance MAG8R however, we have engineered them to live in/withstand the outside elements. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t see why they wouldn’t. Maybe over time humidity would affect them.
