“I'm installing 8 in a large room. Should I put left speakers on the same side of the room (west side) or stagger them for a better stereo effect standing near any speaker? Standing on the west side of the room, you would only hear the left speakers.”

Switching would work, but definitely recommend getting a good amp with all the newest latest greatest technology to do that for you. Positioning is EVERYTHING, + get a subwoofer

For the best listening experience, you’ll want to alternate (stagger) the left and right channels across the room rather than placing all the left speakers on one side and all the right speakers on the other. This way, no matter where you stand, you’ll hear a balanced stereo image instead of just one channel dominating that area. I hope you found this information helpful.
