Hi, Thank you for your question. The MAGROCKS2.1 system requires speaker wire to be connected to the speakers and run back to an amplifier. If you used a Sonos Amp to power the Rocks2.1, you then would be able to stream music to them via wifi. If you plan on running both systems in your backyard, I recommend connecting the MAGROCKS2.1 system to its own Sonos Amp. This would give you huge flexibility by allowing you to independently control the volume on both systems. This also allows you to zone your backyard, meaning you can play one or both systems simultaneously. I hope you found this information helpful.
