Hi, Thanks for your question. For the Sonance R12SUB, the cutout (opening) is 12.97" x 12.97", per the CAD drawing. A couple of important notes that are easy to miss: This subwoofer requires the matching in-wall enclosure (R12SUB ENC), which is sold separately.
