“Can the system be used for outdoor movie theater? If the sound comes out from an Apple TV, can it be hooked to a projector and also amp? The only format supported would be stereo? Or is there an amp that can be used to separate center, L, R and surround?”

I wouldn’t go for an amp. Just find a receiver with Hugh wattage and you will be fine. That is the only way I know of to connect it (without latency) to a TV. Hope this helps.
