Hi, Thank you for your question. This particular speaker is designed specifically for use as home theater surround speakers / single stereo speakers. The benefit of using this speaker over the VP66 is the dual tweeter design covers a larger area allowing you more flexibility for seating positions in the room. I would recommend using the VP66 SST/SUR SINGLE for the surround channels over the regular VP66. I hope you found this information helpful.
