As far as I know, it won't work with a Play 1. It can only be paired with One or another One SL.

Yes, during setup you can select which two you want for which room they are going to be in.

The Sonos One SL can not be used as a rear speaker with a Play:1. The rear speakers must both have the same name. The Sonos One SL can be used in a stereo pair with a Sonos One with voice as they have the same name the SL just signifies the lack of a microphone.
