Not an issue at all. My router is in another room and the sound bar works perfectly fine. It just needs a wireless internet connection and one small cable to the tv.

Sonos actually recommends you leave some space between your router and your speakers, as close proximity to each other can cause feedback issues. (I can attest to this, had some cracking noises coming from my sub when it was too close to the router).

Make sure to purchase the BOOST which will sit in your closet by the router to connect the SONOS to your internet as well as the wireless network for you to control it from your devices. (the boost is not often recommended by sales people because SONOS is wifi compatible. Purchase it anyways lest you find yourself frustrated with slowed wifi speeds and occasional connection dropouts)
