• I tried to setup using a smart phone with Andriod operating system and it did not work. So I tried my tablet and it worked, So give it a try, either it will work or not! What ever you use to setup you will need to use to control you system. There is a setup to link your TV remote so you can use it to control the sound. But to access the internet music services you will need to access your ipad.

• As long as you install the Sonos app on your tablet and have wifi, you won't need a phone.

• Yes the app is available for the ipad. I have it set up on mine ipad mini and have set up 2 pairs of Play1 speakers with the ipad app.
