Yes the sound bar gives you a surround sound. Sonos Recommends using additional play ones for more of a Surround sound. As far as your other speakers I'm using Sonos amps, you can push two speakers per amp. If you use just the Sonos player I added a 800 watt amp and it is pushing 6 each 8 1/2 high end built in speakers, the sound is awesome.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For surround sound you have to get the PLAYBAR, woofer, and 2 shelf speakers. That'll give you 5.1 sound. Remote will pair automatically and works to control volume. You can get the piece to make old speakers stream wirelessly but I don't know how it works exactly.
