You will definitely need another sound bar for the TV downstairs because the TVs can only connect to the play bar using an optical cable. Maybe they will come out with a firmware update in the future which will allow you to connect it wirelessly to your tv like Samsung does with its speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's only 2 wires, power and optical audio so you could theoretically move it from room to room. Otherwise, yep gotta spend another 6-7 bills. :)

Also, if 5.1 surround sound is desired one needs the soundbar, sub and back channel speakers. I purchased the Play1's, they are more than adequate for this function. Hook up is very easy and solid (THIS IS BIG FEATRE OF SONOS PRODUCTS). Everything links and connects easily. The only issue might be if you have a week or spotty wireless internet connection in which case you should also add a SONOS bridge to increase wireless performance to the SONOS components.

When you set up multiple systems in the Sonos app you'll be able to name one "Living Room" and the other one "Den" and use the app to control the systems from anywhere in the house. The TVs will be connected directly so they'll play the sound from the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want to use a Sonos soundbar on multiple TVs you have to move it every time you change rooms (awkward) or buy a sound at for each TV.
