“My TV has a four leg stand which fits within the dimension of the playbase but it will be more a concentrated load on the outer edges of the playbase. Is this okay? Will it damage the playbase?”

The stand on my Samsung is the same. The Playbase is solidly built and can handle that.

i believe as long as there is support for the base, it will be fine. you might look at some pics of the underneath side, it has bumpers for weight support

It's a very sturdy speaker... unless your tv weighs 100+ lbs I wouldn't expect any issues whatsoever

It's made to hold the tv. Build quality is superb. Check the specs in the product details tab.

The Playbase seems pretty sturdy, but you could always place something inbetween the two to help balance the weight distribution. Wood strips (paint them black if you want) along the perimeter under the TV feet could work in a pinch.
