The purpose of the port is to hook up non Sonos equipment to play through your Sonos system. I purchased it in order to play my turntable through my Sonos system. You can hook up a tape deck, CD player, AV receiver or external speakers to play via your Sonos system. It uses Bluetooth and WIFI to connect to the Sonos app which will be found and subsequently integrated into your Sonos system mesh network. If you have a Sonos wireless system you need to discover the port in your Sonos app. Then any non Sonos device connected to the port such as a turntable or external speakers can play via the wireless Sonos speakers/sound bar. If your Sonos system doesn’t detect the port then do a reset on the port and try again. Must use the Sonos app. Also note that the generation is important. Check the compatibility chart looking up your Sonos device. I hooked my turntable via the RCA plugs on the port and was up and running in 10 minutes. Plays with out delay. Flawless sound. Hopefully this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
