“I have an ONKYO receiver & speakers from a different brand. I want to buy the sub first then later on bar & speakers. My receiver is new, have to keep it, can the new sonos sub work with my existing receiver/speakers, or do they have to be SONOS.”

Sonos is a closed ecosystem. There are some adapters you can use to integrate Sonos somewhat, but adding this sub to your existing receiver is not realistic. You could by a sub as good or better for much cheaper that will work with your system out of the box.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As the system is entirely wifi, you would have to have to get some sonos components to connect to. Their is a new "Amp" product that would allow you to connect the stereo to and then let it connect to the Subwoofer and/or other speakers. I do not own the amp, maybe someone else can chime in on this aspect
