Hi pq1sound, Thanks for your inquiry. Both receivers will work with the XBR55A9G and UBP-X800M2. However, neither receiver don't have an input specifically designed for a turntable (PHONO INPUT). To connect a turntable to a stereo system, the stereo system should have a PHONO input. If a PHONO input is not available, the turntable must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the stereo system. NOTE: Sony does not produce an in-line amplifier. The STR-DH790 is also a newer model.
