Here is what I did...ran my soundbar to the TV with the optical cable and then used the HDMI ARC connection between the two. Then, using the BlueTooth connection in my TV I connected to external devices and since you have the soundbar connected to the tv with the ARC cable, ALL SOUND is sent through the soundbar. Hope this helps.
