You have had this TV for less than a year and your speakers are no longer working. Sounds like you should still be under the warranty period to get them fixed. Anyway, if you want to connect your Genie to the soundbar, make sure that you have the soundbar set up under the ARC connection. That will automatically turn off the TV speakers. Could that be why you are no longer getting sound from them? Sony TVs usually turns off the internal speakers when you have an ARC connection set up. Your soundbar should have an additional HDMI input. That is where you plug your Genie HDMI out cable into. The HDMI cable from the ARC connection should go to the ARC connection on the soundbar and the other end of the HDMI cable plugs into the ARC connection on your TV. I do not know which Sony TV that you have, so I am assuming that you have an ARC input on your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will be fine. Connect to TV, it will bypass tv speakers, put your tv to mute and enjoy. I use it for Roku TV. Works fine. Else get a Bluetooth transmitter and connect the bar via Bluetooth.
