The mounting holes should line up with typical stud spacing. I would recommend making sure you get the mounting screws into the studs. If you can't because of where you want to put the bar, make sure you use molly (butterfly) screws, not just plugs in the drywall as without some better hold, the screws will pull out. I used some simple small metal brackets that were screwed into the studs to mount mine.
