QuestionI was watching my Sony Bravia tv and all of a sudden the sound stopped the Sony amp is on I have unplugged cable and anything else connected and still no sound. Suggestions?

- Answer We had a simular problem, I turned off the wifi/blue tooth options for all of our phones/tablets in our home. Appears all our divices were conflicting, this problem has happened to us before with our other sound bar divices. Whenever a new device is added to the mix of things this problem has come up for us. The sound came back on when I turned the unit back on after unplugging and resetting/restarting it.

QuestionGot everything hooked up via arc hdmi secure wireless Bluetooth connection. Hooked up to Sony Bravia TV; however, the sound bar is blocking the Sony oem ir tv sensor, therefore making it difficult to control volume with set top box controller. Fix????????

- Answer Hello Mike, I also have a Sony Bravia TV. When I put the sound bar in front it blocked the tv's remote IR. So I first put it directly in back of the tv and that solved that problem. But for aesthetic reasons I didn't really want it there. Personal preferences. Since my tv sits on a cabinet, the first open slot just under the top of the cabinet is fully open all the way across about two inches longer than the sound bar. Works perfectly also. If you have that option try that. Or you could also raise your tv an inch depending on the kind of stand it has. Hope this helps.

QuestionHow can I use only one remote to control the volume and turn speaker on/off with TV on/off ? I have Vizio 43' TV and Sony 2.1 htct-290 sound bar. Please suggest if anybody knows it.

- Answer The only way I can get the speaker to turn on and off with the remote control is to hook it up with the ARC input with the HDMI cable. I have a Samsung TV. The volume and power works with the TV remote and the Roku remote. I don't know if it will work with a Vizeo TV.

QuestionAll looked good (comparing to LG SK5Y) until I see no HDMI Input. Why would it have an HDMI Output but no HDMI Input? That said, this seems like one of the best, in this price range, for vocal clarity. Correct?

QuestionIs there any way to disable to responses from the sound bar? Whenever I use Netflix or SlingTV I will get like how long the movie is the, the title, that's it is okay to pause the movie. It is really really obnixious.

- Answer I have the same issue and was able to fix it with the setting on my TV. If you’re using the arc HDMI it automatically turns that sitting on. Look to your TV Settings.

- Answer I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT MY UNIT IS JUST OVER ONE YEAR OLD AND NOW IS NOT COVER BY THE WARRANTY. SO CALL SONY BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRE SO THEY CAN REPLACE THE UNIT.

QuestionWhen the sound bar (sonyHT-TC290) is connected with TV Samsung without any reason, after the TV's is off, every couple hours is starting on the TV. Tmer on my TV is off so i don't know what happens but is starting on the TV only when is conected with bar

- Answer If you don't have a 4k tv you to get an hdmi optical converotor. I paid 8.00 for mine on ebay. If you have a cable box that supports optical you can plug directly in box until you get the adapter. It's unfortunate my sales person didn't inform me either. Had to figure it all out myself

- Answer It's highly unlikely that this will play through USB. Most turntables are designed for the USB to send audio to a PC to make a digital copy of your records.

- Answer Yes but most tvs don't have but one optical input including my Sony. If you are connecting the tv via HDMI then you would have the optical port available. You should also be able to connect it by USB if you get a USB connecter with two male ends. That's what I would try. You can also connect the tv via HDMI.

QuestionOur CT 290 subwoofer will not turn (ie. no red light) on when plugged in after not being used for a week while our sound bar was being repaired. The sound bar works fine. How do we get the subwoofer back in operation. Purchased Christmas time.
